Linz and I are Disney lovers! I don’t know at what moment in our life this happened but we both came to same conclusion that Disney is awesome!
Being in Okinawa Tokyo Disney was a top spot on our list of places to go. We have been planning a trip to Disney almost from the day we arrived.
Background on Tokyo Disney. They have two parks. Tokyo Disney and Tokyo Disney Sea. We did our research about both parks. We read that Tokyo Disney Sea is the best Disney park in the world! After being there I must say that Tokyo Disney Sea was pretty amazing!
We bought our plane tickets, bought our park tickets and packed our bags and off we went. Two hour plane ride from Okinawa to Tokyo was great! Traveling with a family always makes things a little more interesting.
4 suitcases, 4 carryons, 1 double troller, 1 iPad, 1 Kindle Fire, 3 phones, endless snacks and games. What good is a stroller if you can’t carry all the bags and no kids right?
We decided to stay at one of the Disney hotels for convenience and to save time. For us it is worth the money on the hotel if we get more time in the park with the ability to come back for quiet time and naps. We stayed at the Hilton Disney. From the hotel to the park entrance it took us about 15 minutes. We hopped on the park tram and boom! There we were.
The flight was so much easier and it was nice to fly within Japan instead of having to do customs. The airport was much farther out than the city so we had to take a bus from the airport to the hotel which took about an hour. Of course our hotel was the last stop so our kids were really excited to finally arrive. Left our house at 10 am and got to the hotel at 5 pm. We grabbed a bite to eat at the deli in the hotel and tried the indoor swimming pool at the hotel.
The first night was a little rough, Hayden’s fat and chubby legs kept getting stuck in the crib so we had to keep untangling him from the crib. Luckily our amazing maids the next day fixed the crib so that his giant legs would not get stuck.
Bright and early next morning we headed to the park. Our plan was first day Tokyo Disney. Second day Disney Sea and Third day either park depending on what things we missed the first two days.
We rode the tram and Kennedy could hardly stand it she was so excited. It started out raining that morning so out came the umbrellas and rain coats. The rain actually we really nice because it kept down the crowds and kept it cool.
Tokyo Disney is very similar to most classic Disney parks. Layout a little different but similar rides with similar feel.
First day we rode rides as fast as possible. So no pictures of rides. And for a good portion of the morning it was pouring rain so not camera. I do have video with the GoPro. But below are some stills of a few highlights.
Classic photo of the terrified toddler with Mickey. McKay is ready to go and Kennedy is posing. Linz looks good to.
Linz is always enjoying herself even if there is rain.
A cute photo of Hayden as he wandered around Minnie Mouses house in Toon Town.
This was taken on “its a small world”. We found that these types of ride were awesome. Long rides, lots to look at with a short line.
Around Lunchtime happened to be the worst of the rain. We found enough covering so that we were not soaked while we ate, but between our party of 5 and our friends we looked like just your overall American family?
By the early afternoon and evening the weather was perfect. The clouds cleared up and it was not too hot. WE ate dinner at this little buffet which had some amazing food. Then when we came out we did a little photo pose because the light, clouds and castle were just perfect.
Classic family photo! Loved the moments. This was probably the peak best moment of the trip. The moment when we were all the happiest, the healthiest and the moment when we had slept the best. We literally round almost every ride in the park on the first day. We came back on day three and hit any that we loved or missed but from start to finish it was a perfect full day at the park. From about this moment onwards this became a little more interesting.
A few more photos and videos from the first day after the kids went to bed. I went back to the park to take some photos of the park lights. They didn’t really let me use my tripod so I had to sneak it a little. But in the end I got some pretty good shots.
Here is a collection of rides that we went on. This was day one of our Tokyo Disney. Next day was Disney Sea. Best Disney park in the world!!!
These photos are awesome!!!!!!!!!!
