This is the most northern point of Okinawa island called Cape Hedo. It has everything you want in a good landscape. Cliffs, rocks, amazing colors, clouds, beautiful clear water with epic views!

I’ve been here twice and it was awesome both times. During the day was so hot! I wanted to die. But the cape itself is huge and wide and beautiful. You can walk along the cliffs and look down to beautiful clear blue water and can even see the reef. The rocks here have some very interesting shapes but at super sharp. My family and I walked along the cliffs for a while but it was so hot that day we didn’t stay for long.
This spot is best shot at sunrise. The sun comes right over the horizon and you can capture the sun breaking the horizon with the rock cliffs to lead you to the sun.
Here is my composed photo. I loved this spot and loved this photo. I put myself into it just as an added element. It makes my wife happy to see people in photos and not just landscapes. Anyways, I had to set up a timer on the camera and then run over to this spot as fast as I could go in order to make it. I was very content with the final result.
Here is another “selfie” of me. The camera is just pointed in the other direction.
I don’t know exactly what this location would be like at sunset. I’ve never been there at sunset but sunrise there was amazing!!!
Here are some more photos I took there.
Daytime, the photos never turn out quite as epic as the ones do at sunrise or sunset. So I’ll leave you with this last photo.
What a great location! If you are ever on the north end of Okinawa you should totally check it out. If you happen to be staying at Okuma, make the sacrifice, get up early and go watch the sunrise. Totally worth it!
